As a pioneer of the East Coast Hip-Hop sound, Kool G Rap is often credited as one of the main emcees that put Queensbridge on the map. As an integral part of the legendary Juice Crew alongside Marley Marl, Mr. Magic, Big Daddy Kane, Biz Markie and Roxanne Shanté. There is no doubting that Kool G Rap has ‘legendary status’ and ever since his classic 1989 release ‘Roads To Riches’ with DJ Polo he has impressed Hip-Hop fans worldwide as well as being cited as one the main influences for rappers such as Notorious B.I.G, Nas, Eminem and many more.
Necro’s story differs but is still one of a true Hip-Hop legend. Starting out as a guitarist in a metal band at the age of eleven he soon got into Hip-Hop rapping alongside his brother Ill Bill and going to on to produce tracks for acts such as Non-Phixion, Cage, Wu Tang’s Raekwon and more. He is also the driving force behind Psycho+Logical-Records, an independent record label that has been active for over a decade and released numerous projects including nine of his own. Necro’s talents don’t just lie as a great recording artist and songwriter; he is also a very talented performer who has toured all over the world as well as starting his own film production company.
Now in 2013 Kool G Rap & Necro join forces as they gear up for what proves to be one of biggest Hip-Hop album releases of the year. Due to be released on 19th November, the collaborative project known as The Godfathers drop their album entitled ‘Once Upon A Crime’ which will be released on RBC/Psycho+Logical-Records.
After releasing their debut video from the album ‘Heart Attack’ the response has been immense with over 150,000 views on You Tube in under two weeks. Now back with the second leak ‘Omerta’ (translated in Mafioso as “vow of silence”) things are really hotting up for this talented duo.

Toronto hip-hop artist Special returns with a re-release of a track off his solo effort ‘Special Ingredient’, which was released in 2012. ‘Synthetic Love’ Produced by XXX productions, and featuring Toronto-based singer Oriana, this west coast g-funk infused joint has that 90’s head nodding feeling. In the spirit of artistic collaboration, the cover artwork, which will be available as a limited edition large format print, was created by Georgia based visual-artist Anna Modosiani.
This single is an appetizer for Special’s collaboration album with soul singer Tony Blount entitled “Dream On”. With artwork also done by Anna Modosiani, the project is conceptual piece that embodies a J.Dilla/Madlib vibe throughout with European production and dusty drum loops.
