Over 29 successful years, DMC has been vital in the growth of the DJ as a highly influential modern day cultural icon, believing strongly in the idea that the DJ could create something new and exciting armed with nothing but two decks, and a mixer. Fast forward to 2013, and DMC has built an army of dedicated followers worldwide, housing successful branches and competitions in 25 countries.
This is a very special year for the DMC World DJ Finals, as the competition has evolved even further. We are excited to announce that proceedings will now occur in the form of one exciting day festival, starting early with workshops from the worlds best DJs, beatboxers and breakdancers, and ending in the greatest DJ show on earth, as World DJ Final and Battle for World Supremacy will take place in front of another packed out crowd of amazed spectators.
To become a DMC World Champion, DJs around the world need to use techniques such as scratching & cutting on turntables in order to create their own musical arrangements, performing live in front of an audience of knowledgeable DMC fans and newcomers alike. As part of the prize for winning the DMC Online DJ Championships held throughout the year, the winner is also invited to compete at the World Finals. With so many countries now open to the contest the event demonstrates one again that DJ creativity knows no bounds.
With World Championship winners over the years including the superstar likes of the Scratch Perverts, A-Trak, Q Bert, Craze and Mixmaster Mike (Beastie Boys), fame and respect could well accompany the bountiful prizes on offer.
