R.E.A.L tha Poet said about the song, “Dream Deferred is a song about failure, doubt and rebirth within oneself. The story I use is one from my own personal experiences. I was blessed enough to play college basketball on several different levels via scholarship, however my true calling was music. When you ignore the undeniable God has a way of shifting your life around to have his will done. At the time I didn’t understand, but with time comes peace.
