Alright kids, here’s the deal. Chances are I’m going to be just a bit (a lot) bias about this track, mostly because this song sounds like a mix between Aesop Rock, Army Of The Pharaohs and BLESTeNATION, and since those dudes are some of my favourite rappers then it looks like I love this song too. All bias aside, well kind of. This a real breath of fresh air, and the dudes in this team up really bring some new and original ideas to the table; their approach in production, cuts and MC technique is something different, and more diverse. Yeah, yeah there is an Aesop Rock vocal sample, but that’s not the crux of the reason I love this song. It’s just really, really hip-hop.

I honestly can’t say more good things about this track. Listen, listen, listen.
Kill a man!
A nice collaborative effort from Lessondary Crew member, Jermiside and producer Jonathan Lowell. The project is a ten track album, and have a good mix of Westcoast and Midwest vibes to it, which gives it an interesting edge. I’m not sure if that was intentional, but that’s what I got from it when initially listening to it, and I can only say it compliments the album as a whole. It’ll be ideal when the weather starts to brighten up a little more, and we can all stop wearing 3 or 4 layers of clothing.
For fans of Fashawn, early Atmosphere, and Murs.
We’ve been fans of Davis Absolute for some time, and the lyrical content in this track explains why.
Never will I ever bee tired of watching cyphers. Props to Team Backpack for this one!
This beat tape’s a little different than a few of the others we’ve recently hyped to you. LoVEE is a beat tape completely dedicated to Lord Faz’s late, great best friend, Virginie “Vee One” Malet . Whilst there are some moments of real sadness and mourning (especially ‘Feel Good Now’ and ‘Love’) in the beats and instrumentation, there’s also a real celebration of life as well, which I’m sure Virginie “Vee One” Malet would have been proud of.
This is only a short offering at 7 songs long, but a solid beat tape nonetheless.
In the words of Faz “This beat tape is a tribute to Virginie “Vee One” Malet
(February 7th, 1974 – March 30th, 2011) who was my Love, my best friend, my partner in crime, one of the most talented journalist in the Hip Hop shit and music, the smartest and most loving woman I met in my life, and the only human being who ever understood me and knew me as no other.”
Don’t sleep on Smokey, this is so good!
South Wales recording artist Skamma aka Skamzini first started making music over ten years ago, perfecting and developing his skills in his bedroom before hitting pirate radio to gain experience. In 2005 he joined the well respected crew Squid Ninjaz and shared stages with the likes of Task Force, Skinnyman, Black Twang, Mystro and many others. Since then he has been hard on his grind, winning his Don’t Flop battle against Pike and featuring on Mudworth’s album on a track alongside Sonnyjim.
