The 4our Pillars are the foundation of Hip Hop; each pillar represents one of the following: Aerosol Art, MC’s, DJ’s and last but by no means least, B-Boys.
Many people claim to be involved in Hip Hop but only seem to represent one or two of the 4our Pillars. Hip Hop culture is EVERYWHERE and has touched EVERY genre of music. If the truth be told, Hip Hop is more than a culture; it’s a way of …life and what the people at 4our Pillars aim to bring to you at the events are nights of pure Hip Hop in its true essence, whether you’re from the old school or the new school, we are one and all are welcome.
The first of the 4our Pillars events was held on June 22nd 2012 at the Underdog Gallery, Crucifix Lane, London SE1 3JW and was a success. Performing on the night were Son of Noise, MCM (from Caveman) and Kamanchi Sly (formerly of Hijack), DJ Biznizz, Bunny Bread and live BBoying from the UK’s No.1 crew, The Soul Mavericks.
There was also aerosol art by Mode 2 from the legendary Chrome Angelz who flew in to the country to support the cause, ArtJaz, Lovegrove, Airheads and Hatch.
This years event is just as BIG and will be held on 7th June at the Underdog Gallery, Arch6, Crucifix Lane, London SE1 3JW. The event kicks of at 8pm and will end at 2am. The Evening will be hosted by UK Hip Hop legend Rodney P, known by many as the ‘Godfather’ of UK Hip Hop, as his group London Posse were regarded as one of the first artists to spit in their UK accent back in the late 80’s early 90’s.
Performances on the night feature a depth of UK talent through the decades with emcees Million Dan aka Mike J from the Demon Boyz, TY, Micall Parknsun, BBoying from the UK’s No.1 crew, Soul Mavericks and Special Guests. Deejays on the night are just as sick featuring Skitz, Sarah Love, Big Ted, DJ Def K (Demon Boyz), DJ Fingers (Sindecut), DJ Mada (Son Of Noise/Hardnoise) and Bunny Bread.
Now lets not forget the Art! Aerosol Art duties on the night will be displayed by the talents of DDS Crew and ArtJaz, there will also be a photographic exhibition from the man Normski who has taken shots of some legendary figures in Hip Hop and of the culture through the years.
This truly is a night with everything a Hip Hop head could want, if i’m up and walking by then I hope to see there!
