Baaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrsssssssss.
Baaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrsssssssss.
Fuck a million dollar video budget, at the end of the day it’s all about the bars and verses.
Another heavy track from Awkword and Chaundon, critiquing their homeland, America both from the internel and the externel view of others. Every song I hear by Awkword, the more I like him. You should too, because we’re always right. Big fan of the production in the chorus of this too.
All proceeds go to World View charity Guns 4 Cameras, a 501c3 nonprofit that goes beyond the gun-exchange program, working to eradicate street violence through the Hip Hop-inspired education and empowerment of our at-risk youth.
Fdot1 hit me up on Twitter with this track earlier today, now I thought i’d posted it ‘coz normally I got tings on lockdown from both these talented emcees, however trawling through the archives I cant find it…..slacking!!! Well, Here it is, Fdot1 set’s it off and Genesis Elijah quite simply, ‘slays’ it. If you ain’t feelin’ this, then you are NOT a true Hip Hoppah.
Fdot1 spoke on the collab with Gen and said “I’ve been a Genesis Elijah fan since I met him at the start of his hustle, shottin’ his debut single some years back and all I gotta say is, “thanks for blessing da track fam.” Onwards n’ upwards……. SALUTE!!”
(For the record this is just a RUFF version, the finished track will be on Fdot1’s next album.)

A pretty dark song with a morbid narrative from Bristol native, B-Dee. If you ever thought your ex girl/boy treated you bad, just be thankful this didn’t happen to you, sheesh. The production by ADOTHEGOD sets it up so well, and really gives the lyrics and content the right backbone. You can download B-Dee’s earlier releases from his Bandcamp and Soundcloud links below. ‘L.O.V.E’ is from the fourthcoming album ‘Never Better’ which should be out this year.

7evenThirty had released an extremely heartfelt and passionate dedication to his daughter who sadly died. He’s teamed up with Laurie Walker to create a song that not so much is mourning her death, but rather celebrating her life and existence. Very sad of course, but a very joyous and happy song nonetheless making sure that his daughter lives on n his music.

Ahhhh my girl’s from the same city in Norway as beat maker Nhu-Rha, so he won by default. Hoohoo wouldn’t it have been awful if he was a really bad producer, and I was fooled into promoting him solely on the strength of my own personal bias? Well, thankfully that didn’t happen, and in reality we’re not going to promote bad music just because of it’s geographical positioning, so you can all sleep soundly.
This is still a relatively young release, and in some tracks I feel like he’s still formulating his ideas and strengths. However, please don’t take that as a criticism; I’m a big fan of listening to burgeoning artists (that’s the reason HHL&T exists in the first place) and the tape takes on some different and interesting turns throughout. Some are quite minimalistic, whilst others pack a heavier punch, but all carry an urgent feel to them which I enjoy.
Don’t listen to me though, make up your mind for yourself.
