Krang Bang Boogie’s got the lines. This has been sitting in our inbox for a few days, and I’m sorry to say I missed it the first time. Grimy city kid hip-hop for sure. Listen to all the tracks, then give your ears a treat and check his full-length out.
The lyrics and the flow are well done, and Jae Meida has a lot of potential to grow as a rapper. I’d like to hear him rap over maybe some less mainstream beats. It’s not a criticism per-say, I’d just like to hear him mixing in some different production and instrumentation. For fans of Crise Da God, Jae Appollo, Kendrick Lamar.
16-year old Bishop Nehru is a young cat with an old school flow and complex lyrics & rhyme schemes. The young Rockland County, NY native is more than just a rapper though – he also produces music, as well as directs and edits videos – he does a lot of his own beats and videos.
For Bishop Nehru’s newest video off his mixtape Project “Nehruvian”, he recruits fellow Rockland County native Que Hampton for a self-directed video for their collabo, “Misruled Order.”
Bishop chose his name from inspiration taken from Tupac’s character in the movie “Juice,” noting that the character of Bishop inspires him “to go out and get mine, you’ve got to earn respect.” The Nehru is taken from the the former prime minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru, who worked closely with legendary peacemaker Ghandi but never got the credit for his work.
Straight out of Corona , Queens NYC up and coming artist PATH is making his name known. With in depth description to everyday living and in your face truth, this emcee holds no bar. Pun intended. ‘The Fall From Grace’ project is a short series of conscious raps over nostalgic beats. Produced by up and coming beat makers such as Canis Major, Crooks Monroe, Fresco Stevens and KBeat.
