Usually we wouldn’t post a song with a beat like this on these pure website walls. Now, now don’t get your knickers in a twist, Stix and I aren’t music snobs (just check my music collection, Taylor Swift is my jam) if it’s good, it’s good. Regardless of genre or style. However usually a song with a beat and production such as this isn’t something you’d normally find on our site. This is mostly because the lyrical content is bad. I don’t mean this particular beat or producer, it’s done well and for this style of production it’s good, I’m more talking about the rappers that you might expect to hear MC on a track like this. Not to say that the production is as superficial as the content, because there are plenty of tracks by Lupe that are similar, it’s just not to my preferred taste. However on this occasion, it’s not about the beat, and the lyrical content isn’t bad. DCP is an indie rapper from Oregon far removed from the 2 Chainz of this world, but yo if there’s a competition that enables you a bigger platform to showcase your music, you’re going to jump at the chance regardless of the beats right? Right, so that’s what DCP has done. Dude has a really strong double-time style and flow that shines through the music. He’s not talking about junk, and he definitely has a lot of potential-so check him out and have a listen to what he’s actually saying.
I do feel mean about making fun of the production, so I’ll say that hey man everyone has a preferred cup of tea-I’m just saying I like mine a little different. I’m sure if I produced, I’d have a ton of dudes on the internet not fanning over me too.
