Having previously produced Tommy Roots ‘Noughts & Crosses’ EP, which featured a track titled ‘Champion’ with Universal Records signee Benjamin A.D, Natty Strange is now ready to take on the globe with his debut EP, which is available as a free download now.
Hailing from South London, ‘Connect 4’ features a collection of 5 tracks from the artist. The stand out tracks from the EP are the self-produced ‘This Is The Life’ and ‘Upside Down’, two hard-hitting tracks which demonstrate his phenomenal wordplay and vocal ability.
The line in opening track ‘Winners Circle’, “They say that life is short, but what else do you know that’s longer? Keep showing me love, I’ll return it like Wilfred-Tsonga”, is a great example of the rapper using his lyrics to reflect on life’s emotions, and it is these emotions that listeners of his music can relate to, which is what makes Natty Strange such a diverse and talented MC.
Production on the E.P. comes courtesy of Natty Strange himself, SK of 8 Bit Music, Tony Tokyo (Chockz) and Chris Prythm (Lloyd Banks).
The 22 year-old is set to release his debut mixtape ‘Last of a dying breed’ early next year – so keep a look out for this up and coming artist in 2013.
