Delicious Vinyl, the label that released Cali rap crew The Pharcyde‘s groundbreaking 1992 debut album Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde (quoted as Kanye West’s favorite album), has teamed up with Fatlip and Slimkid3 – two of the former Pharcyde members – along with Bizarre Ride producers J-Sw!ft and L.A. Jay for Bizarre Ride Live, a series of shows where they perform the entire album, blurring the lines between a straight up hip-hop show and a theatrical performance. Now, hot off the heels of a tour of Japan, they announce a series of shows across the U.S. and Europe, starting with a date at Los Angeles’ world-famous venue The Roxy. Expect animated hip-hop, energetic raps, bright colors, b-boy throw-downs, magnetic visuals, a heavy dose of humour, and absolutely everything in between.
Tell ya mama this one won’t pass you by — it’s Bizarre Ride Fest, Saturday December 29th, 2012 at The Roxy Theatre in West Hollywood. A live celebration of one of hip-hop most beloved albums, Bizarre Ride Fest features a centerpiece performance by original creators Fatlip, SlimKid3, J-Sw!ft and L.A. Jay, delivering the Bizarre Ride Live experience. Also rocking the house will be the current cream of the scene: Overdoz, Polyester the Saint, Kid Named Breezy, Quelle Chris, Cazal Organism & The Zzyzzx. Attendees are welcome to grab the mic with Mandy Mayhem’s Hip-Hop Karaoke, and everyone is guaranteed that warm giving feeling, with a portion of all ticket sales benefitting The Fernando Pullum Community Arts Center. So put on your peg leg and c’mon out for what promises to be a wonderful and wild Bizarre Ride!
