UK artists SAS release the video for ‘Drug Flow’, the second track from their highly anticipated Mixtape ‘Coming to America II’. Produced by The Last Skeptik, who has previously worked with the likes of Rewd Adams, Gorillaz, Sway, Kate Nash & Enter Shikari, ‘Drug Flow’ follows on from the first single from the tape, ‘Suave Life Remix’ which featured guest verses from new Harlem & Brooklyn luminaries Vinny Cha$e and Curt@!N$, the catchy sample of A$AP Rocky’s ‘Peso’ worked into the hook of ‘Drug Flow’ providing a keen transatlantic narrative. The video for ‘Drug Flow’, directed by Rufus Exton & shot at London’s foremost Hip Hop night Livin’ Proof, is the first visual offering from the Coming to America II project, which also includes features from Nicki Minaj, Emilio Rojas & €urogang.

Here is the new album from UK rap veteran LATE. We’ve been fans of LATE’s work for time here at HHL&T and to call him just a UK rapper is a bit of a understatement on our part as over the years he has worked with US artists such as Willie D from Geto Boys, JT The Bigga Figga, Fes Taylor and K-Rino, gaining himself respect not just here in the UK but across the pond too.
‘Street Science’ features contributions from US rappers Big Prodeje from South Central Cartel, as well as IITone, K-Rino, Gonja and also features vocals of UK rapper/singer Jai Boo. The album is produced by his long term producer and friend Tricksta and the beats compliment the flows of the artists involved.
Stand out tracks are ‘Its All Or Nothing’ which demonstrates LATE’s grind and passion for his music, The track ‘Inner City Livin’ and ‘Lyrical Technicians’ featuring K-Rhino.
Having followed LATE’s carrer for some time, this is quite possibly his best album to date and with no illusions of being ‘Gangsta’ this is road music for real heads. Don’t sleep on this go cop it now!

You know what I really love? I fucking love getting unexpected album advanced, that’s what I love. So you can imagine my glee (yeah I said glee, and what? I got guns yeah) when we got Fliptrix’s new album ‘The Road To The Interdimensional Piff Highway’ in our inbox.
This is Fliptrix fourth highly anticipated solo effort from the High Focus camp, produced by Runone and Molotov, and I’ll give you the spoiler now and tell you it’s really, really good.
Half recorded in Switzerland and half in the UK, and you can hear in both Runone and Molotov’s production, and Fliptrix’s lyrical subject matter, the sense of travel and experimentation throughout the entire record. I’m not saying Fliptrix couldn’t have made a LP just as good if he had stayed in his yard, but I really think the cross-country recording gave it some interesting depth, if nothing else because there’s no way an artist can’t be effected in some way when you change the environment of where you’re working. Switzerland isn’t a half bad country to looking at every morning either, that’s for sure. I also have to say right now that this is one of my favourite albums when it comes to production, that I’ve heard all year. Every track is extremely different and varied; it never gets old, and it’s always got really interesting parts. Runone and Molotov really set the bar on this one.
I think one thing that I immediately got from the record is the positivity and progression that comes off in every track. Even the somewhat darker songs like ‘The Realisation’ still seem to have a positive outcome. For a track that only clocks in at just under 4 minutes, he manages to cover everything from materialism, the war in Syria, the environment, police and a plethora of other subjects. All without sounding preachy, or coming off as condescending; that in itself is a hard task at the best of times. Every track throughout the record seems to be very purpose-able when it comes to lyrics and style; there’s definitely an obvious running theme of conscience thought. Now before I go any further I personally don’t like that term, it really pisses me off because it was invented by record execs, so they could pigeon-hole any rap that wasn’t negative or self-abusive and make it seem ‘other’, or not ‘ordinary’ hip-hop, which is completely false anyway. No motherfucker, it doesn’t fucking mean anything. When I use the word conscience in relation to Fliptrix’s new album, I mean in the correct context. This album is about Fliptrix addressing issues, both externally and internally that a large majority of the population have a hard time acknowledging. He does it in a way that doesn’t simply sound like he’s trying to teach you, but rather just give you cause for thought. You know, using your conscience. That’s what I mean.
This record is going to satisfy all long-time Fliptrix’s fans, and definitely gain a few new ones. Don’t sleep on this, because this is quickly becoming one of my favourites of his discography and I’ve only had it a few days! Also if you don’t love the soul sample on the last song ‘The High Way’, which is all about billing up, then you mate need to sort your ears out. Whether you’re a smoker or not, this is a perfect ender.
The Road To The Interdimensional Piff Highway is out on the 12th of December just in time for Christmas, via High Focus so now you know what to ask for from your nan don’t you?
For fans of Leaf Dog, Aesop Rock, Akala, Haan.
