Following the spring release of Jaunty’s debut EP, a second project in the summer and collaborations with artists such as Quaranteam members Skillit and K-Nite 13, K.I.N.E.T.I.K., he’s back with his latest release, We Must Remain Friends.
This video encompasses curiosity, caution, joy and maybe even regret. Based on a true story, it represents love at first sight and an unspoken heard.
Jaunty says: Sometimes, the greatest love… It doesn’t even involve a kiss. Sometimes a kiss is not enough. This film is based on a day in Kyoto and I wanted to emulate a feeling I experienced; a feeling that consumed me and led to We Must Remain Friends.
In March 2011, Jaunty travelled to Japan for 4 weeks on a soul-searching excursion. The love and appreciation for the country, language and culture, urged him to venture to foreign lands alone. Unfortunately, he landed on the same day as the major natural disaster (earthquake/tsunami), but decided to stay and tour the island nation. It’s a stressful environment, such as this, that births a heartfelt song like this one.
