Hey, so I’ve come out from under my rock for 5 minutes to educate all these eeediots about what good lyrical content actually is. Up in tha club, smoking a blunt is all very well but if that’s all you’re saying, then you my friend are wasting your spotlight and everyone else’s time. There are a million other people who would do a better job than you, and the only reason you’ve been given the chance is because the mainstream want us (I use that term loosely. It can be used in a whole heap of different contexts in relations to class, race and gender but for sake of argument I’m saying ‘us’ as in the hip-hop community) to play into their idea of what hip-hop and rap is. Full of shallow, money hungry, stupid, sexist, homophobic, self-hating fools. Because every time you talk about shooting some dude for the sake of ‘your’ block, just remember it isn’t yours. It’ll never be yours, and it’s not worth one ounce of blood. Unless you control the flow of capital of course? No? I didn’t think so. You have more cause to fight the person that owns that block and put you in this environment, not the guy in the same situation as you two streets away. Or every time you talk about bitches, fags or put down other races you’re simply playing into the hands of people that want you to destroy yourself, whilst making money off you. Ignorance isn’t cool, read a book and learn some new words.
We need more Lupe’s, not Lil Waynes.
Now I’m back to work, see you in a week kids. Aimee.
