I’ve been spending the last ten minutes without success to try and post this video, so for all those lazy bones out there who find it too much effort to click a link give me a break and please click it. It’s worth it.
We got sent a video of Akilah Brock talking about hip-hop in general, and females in the industry. She’s pretty on point, and you can’t fault her ideas and observations about female rappers. She even explains the reasoning behind her album cover. The interviewer says and asks slightly stupid things (“up and coming rappers, I should really say female rappers” No, you shouldn’t she’s a rapper she doesn’t need a gendered title), but it’s a good interview nonetheless. You should watch the video whether you’re actually a real hip-hop head that cares about the scene, or just a dumb wagon sucker that just hopped on for the nice flat peaks. I don’t know where I went there, but hey whatever it’s the internet I can talk jibba jabba.
Go check the video and check Akilah Brock, her new album is out now.
