American rapper, SGT OVER releases his new record ‘S.O.U.L Music’ that deals with his upbringing, on becoming a father and failing as a partner. This serves as an autobiography so far.
A recent interview Immortal Technique did for ‘Truth is Scary’. As always Tech speaks in depth, and this time he talks about Kony 2012, the killing of Trayvon Martin, the distraction of the masses, and a whole lot more.
The third single off of Hasan Salaam Music Is My Weapon project. “Miss America” addresses the harsh realities of the past and the present actions and policies of the United States. The video depicts how apathy and lack of action by the masses allows these modern day injustices to exist. It is our duty to not stand by and remain silent. Change begins with us.
The concept behind Hasan Salaam’s EP “Music Is My Weapon” is the belief that music can be used as a powerful tool in the pursuit of freedom, justice, and equality. With the release of the project, Hasan is aiming to prove that music can change people’s lives, literally. All profits from the sale of the EP are being used to fund a school, clean water well, and medical clinic in Guinea-Bissau, West Africa. The school has already been completed, and construction of the well is underway.
This should’ve been posted a long time ago, then again I’m surprised it hasn’t blown up even more. ‘Home By 8’ is from the Split Prophets camp, featuring Datkid and filmed by Browns Bailey. The song is a catchy fucking ting, and I’m really feeling the way it’s been shot. Datkid will be releasing his album on Bandcamp in the next couple week, so we’ll keep you updated when it finally drops.
