Now I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, sometimes it’s nice to have a little platform to get some awesomeness to the world.
Underwraps is a hip-hop band from Bristol; MC, DJ/Producer, drummer and bassist. I’ll do the ‘recommended if you like’ beforehand so you know have some idea of what to expect. Akala, early Bashy, Immortal Technique, Beastie Boys, BLESTeNATION, Atmosphere, Foreign Beggars, Black The Ripper, and a very big healthy dose of old skool hip-hop too many to name but you get the idea.

They’re also fronted and dj’d (is that a real word?) by my (Aimee) best friends so yes it may seem like I’m biased, BUT if they were garbage do you really think I’d post a video of them up? Think about it. If you thought your best friend made awful music would you want them to be publicly humiliated on the internet? Well maybe you would but I’m a nice person so I wouldn’t.

This is as underground and grass roots as it gets. They’re currently recording an album. Expect an interview with my boys very soon.

This is taken from my university’s end of year show where I studied music with the DJ ‘Giant Uncle Matt’ and introduced the Karl (the MC) to him so I’d like to take full credit for any success they get from here on out. It’s their first ever live show but you’ve gotta appreciate the rawness and energy. Pure talent and passion can’t be faked though.
