Cyclonious is a rapper from East London who for the last couple of years has really started making a name for himself. With a string of releases and good quality videos under his belt, Hip-Hop Life And Times speak with him about his music, the current state of Hip-Hop and what the future holds for him.
Easy bro, okay lets start at the beginning how did you get into music and when did you decide to make music?
I was always into music from i could walk and talk. my father was in a sound system which sparked my knowledge into different types of music and sounds.
So where did the name Cyclonious come from?
Cyclonious comes from my style of rapping. Im a very calm individual but what i say is very powerful.
Okay for those that don’t know can you tell us what projects you’ve released so far and where people can get them?

The Warrior And The Blacksmith – http://www.zaskia.co.uk/music/cyclonious-42nd-chamber-the-warrior-and-the-blacksmith
The Chosen – http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JDFKXO50
You’ve had some killer videos too; I loved the one that Global Faction did. Do you have any plans to drop any new videos soon?
I have two new videos out right now, ‘Get Them Hands High’ and ‘First Class’
There seems to be some quality music coming out of the UK at the moment. What artists from the UK do you think people should be looking out for this year and next?
Nate and Dark Matter
So what’s your next move! LOL. What’s your next release? You got anything in the pipeline? Is there an album on the horizon?
I got a couple more free downloads to release before the years out. In January 2012 i will be releasing my album called ‘The Revival’
You live in East London, a place known for producing a lot of quality rappers. What is it about where you live that you think seems to have this aura to create good music?!
To me all areas produce something different. We all have different slang and ways we carry our selves. maybe people out side looking in likes what we do a little more than other areas. i dont really know. i never really pay attention to things like that.
It’s been a few months since the looting and rioting that made international news. What’s the vibe like in London at the moment?
London is back to normal. Still behind paying bills. Still struggling. Still being watched and harressed.
Do you think the rioting was justified? What are your views on the whole issue?
I think the event showed the whole country who we all are. A big can of worms was opened and we all saw. We saw how the police abuse their powers and kill individuals and get away with it. We see how high ranking officials are racist claiming it was only blacks looting when i saw all nationalitys on tv going into shops and taking things for them selves. We saw individuals who was far from broke but just looting because of the oppotunity, they most probberly didnt even know who Mark Duggan was. then there was the hungry poor individuals who was stealing bags of rice. so it was a sad event but at the same time i got to see the real Britian. my verdict on the whole thing is ‘aint nothing changed’!
You’ve been doing few collaborations too, are there any features you’ve done for people that are worth mentioning?
Once again Nate and Dark Matter. We have been recording alot and have alot coming.
You work with different producers too which I think is a good thing. Who are you working with now bruv?
The Chairman Maff, Dj Vital and Dirty Urch
