Ten ways how not to be a sexual deviant or a rapist scumbag. Heidi Barton Stinks tells you how on ‘Consent Song’. Not only is this a clever and much-needed track, but the rhythm and bars are ridiculous. I feel a little shamed though, because here was me thinking I was Queen of Hip-Hop and it took my girl who hardly listens to the genre, to show me. Minus 5 rap points kids. You can pre-order the whole album ‘A Charming Gut’ (produced by See More Perspective) from the bandcamp page.

Moe Pope’s career first took off in the early 2000s with the Bay Area-based hip-hop band Mission (who later became known as Crown City Rockers). After a series of 12″s, Pope appeared on the group’s LP, One, in 2001, before deciding to return to Boston in order to look after his daughter. Back in his hometown, he connected with rapper/producer Insight and his five-man outfit, Electric (aka Electric Company).
Along with members Anonymous and Raheem Jamal, Pope broke off from Electric to form Project Move, issuing their debut album, Love Gone Wrong/Butterfly Theory, in 2006. As each group member went off to make solo records, Pope reunited with his former Crown City cohort Headnodic for the well received collaborative album Megaphone in 2008.
In 2010, Moe released his critically acclaimed Life After God LP, which was highlighted by iTunes on its 2010 “Rewind List.” Currently, Moe Pope is working on a few new projects, with a new production partner and a new label for his latest and most mature works to date. Here is a sampling of some of that new work, from Moe’s upcoming The Shit You Shoulda Heard Vol. 1 (coming soon) as Moe collaborates with acclaimed Indy band Sun Kil Moon.

Really intense record, recommended if you love yourselves some Immortal Technique, Aesop Rock and/or spoken word. The lyrical imagery is fantastic, and the more I listen the more attached I become. Did i just say ‘attached’ to describe the validity of a record? Well yes, yes I did.
Apparently the whole album is based on a Bill Hicks joke, although which one I just couldn’t tell you; and all all the beats are madlib. This is different and better than a lot of what I’ve heard recently. Plus one of the songs is called “MTV Makes Me Wanna Smoke Crack’. Mate, rad. Yes to the little Eyedea nod in ‘Man Vs Machine’.
More guitars and keyboards in hip-hop please! Brum MC, SP.
Ooh now I don’t know if we’ve ever posted two videos at the same time, although I can’t remember what I did half an hour ago so we probably have. Both video are rad, and go perfectly with the tracks. Stressing at the fairground, and anxious driving. Sick videos and Ecid is an amazing MC from the Twin Cities. Get on the hype train, it’s leaving.

Last month we got an email from a Cleveland, OH (USA) rapper Asjislam. We got a bit backdated and didn’t get round to posting it sooner, but it’s got a lot of potential. You can’t deny the man’s passiona and drive, and his flow’s catchy. The way he deals with the subject matter he speaks on if pretty different too. You can check out all his stuff if you get those little fingers of yours clicking down there.
A dirt track from Insane Macbeth, featuring Reveal. The production’s nice and grimey, and the flow’s tight. Download it for free by clicking on the link below. Be proud of wherever you’re from!

This video came out just under a year ago, but I only recently found out about Redbeard and this genius of a track. If you’ve ever had to sign up to money-money job agencies, working 12 hours a week and making barely more than being on the dole (although that’s pretty crap too!) than you’ll know all about this song. It’s like they’re practically trying to force you onto the benefits que. Very funny and very witty.
The single is available from Redbeard’s bandcamp page. http://redbeard00.bandcamp.com/ which also includes 2 other tracks featuring Sonnyjim, Kosyne, Sk, Sam stealth and producer’s Jon Phonics and Wizard.
This Joint is Siiick !!
